Near: Marion, VA
Route: Old 84 to Rowlands Creek Trail to Jerry's Creek Trail
Distance: 12.4 miles
Difficulty: Average, some ups & some downs
Conditions: Sunny day!
Impression: This was a fun day hike...i went with the intention of camping somewhere, but not too many good looking campsites out there...Old 84 is a horse trail and muddy at times, while the Rowlands Creek Trail is stream covered...plenty of places to get your feet wet on this hike...a nice summertime loop, one i would recommend...
Directions to Trailhead:
From Damascus, VA take 58 east until the split with SR 603...follow SR 603 until the intersection with SR 600, approximately 3 miles, then turn left onto SR 600...take 600 about 3 miles until Skulls Gap and Forest Service Road 84...make a right there and the trailhead is a little over a mile from Skulls Gap...
