Cabin Creek Trail
June 14, 2010
Near: Grayson Highlands State Park, VA
Route: Cabin Creek Trail
Distance: 1 miles
Conditions: Sunny, with a few clouds
Impressions: This is an easy hike that i did one day with my dog...it's an easy downhill to Cabin Creek and once there, it's a nice walk along the water...there are a couple of waterfalls that are worth seeing...because other areas of the park are far more popular, this is a nice trail to get away from all the folks...if you are only in the Highlands for a short time, this trail can be missed, but if you live in the area, or are looking for an easy hike (shouldn't take more than 1.5 hrs.), than this is a nice trail to do...with it being so close to the water, i would suggest a summertime visit...i would suspect the flowers would be very pretty along the trail too in the spring...nice, easy trail that's worth the time...
Directions to Trailhead:
From Damascus, Grayson Highlands State Park is about 45 minutes east on Hwy 58...once at the park, take the road to Massie Gap and park...the trailhead is on the left hand side of the clearing there...
